Mesalt® stimulates the cleansing of heavily discharging wounds in the inflammatory phase by absorbing exudate, bacteria and necrotic material. This effectively facilitates the wound healing process. Product Directions: Instructions How product works Mesalt can be used by lay persons under supervision of health care professionals.Mesalt should be changed when saturated (at least once a day), or according to good clinical practice. If the condition of the wound deteriorates, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.Application:1. Clean the wound area and debride of any excessive necrotic tissue or eschar.2. Dry the surrounding skin, but do not dry the surface of the wound.3. Where clinically indicated, a water-resistant cream or ointment can be used on the surrounding skin.4. Choose the appropriate Mesalt dressing size. For shallow wounds do not allow Mesalt to overlap the wound edges. For deep wounds, loosely fill the wound.5. Apply Mesalt dry into the wound6. Depending on the level of exudate, cover with an appropriate secondary dressing.7. Where clinically indicated, compression therapy may be used in conjunction with Mesalt. Precautions - Do not use Mesalt on patient and/or user with known hypersensitivity to the materials/components of the product.- Mesalt should not be used on dry wounds.- Mesalt should not be allowed to come into direct contact with exposed bone or tendon.- Infected wounds should be evaluated on a regular basis and treated appropriately.- Do not reuse.
