Product Directions: Instructions How product works Exufiber Ag+ is a sterile, soft nonwoven dressing made of highly absorbent and gel-forming polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibres coated on both sides with silver sulphate. Exufiber Ag+ has high absorption and retention capacity of wound exudate and maintains a moist wound environment. The structural integrity of Exufiber Ag+ supports removal in one piece.\n\nIn contact with liquid, Exufiber Ag+ releases silver ions and inactivates a variety of wound related\npathogens such as bacteria, fungi and moulds, as has been shown in vitro. By reducing the number of microorganisms, Exufiber Ag+ can prevent and reduce the formation of bacterial biofilm, as shown in vitro and in vivo. Exufiber Ag+ can be used as an effective barrier against microbial penetration of the dressing. Product material content: Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibres, hydroxypropyl cellulose and silver sulphate equal to 0.2 mg silver per cm2. Precautions • Clinicians/ Healthcare Professionals should be aware that there are very limited data on prolonged and repeated use of silver containing dressings, particularly in children and neonates.• Do not use Exufiber Ag+ on patients and/or user with a known hypersensitivity to the ingoing materials/components of the product.• Frequent or prolonged use of this product may result in permanent discoloration of the skin.• Do not reuse. If reused performance of the product may deteriorate, cross contamination may occur.• Sterile. Do not use if sterile barrier is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilise.
